The free vaccination is part of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana’s “Disease-Free Animals, Rabies-Free People” project, aiming to eradicate rabies completely in Thailand.

Rabies, a fatal but vaccine-preventable zoonotic disease, predominantly affects disadvantaged and/or rural populations in Asia. It is transmitted via bites and scratches from infected animals, with dogs responsible for around 99% of human cases, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

As part of the project, Chalong residents can vaccinate their pets for free in April at the following locations:

  • Moo 1 – Apr 1 – Guan Yu Shrine Baan Nabon, Multipurpose Community Hall.
  • Moo 2 – Apr 2 – Moo 2 Village Headman’s Office.
  • Moo 3 – Apr 2 – Moo 2 Village Headman’s Office.
  • Moo 4 – Apr 3 – Chalong Municipality.
  • Moo 5 – Apr 3 – Republic Phuket Stadium.
  • Moo 6 – Apr 4 – Baan Chalong School.
  • Moo 7 – Apr 5 – Lotus’s Chalong (ex-Tesco Lotus Chalong).
  • Moo 8 – Apr 9 – Wat Thai School.
  • Moo 9 – Apr 10 – Khok Tanod Community, Chalerm Prakriat Community Hall.
  • Moo 10 – Apr 11 – Baan Sala House Soi Yodsanae, Moo 10 Village Headman’s Office.

Residents can visit mobile vaccination stations in their areas from 8.30am to 4pm (please take your passport or ID with you). In case of being unable to access the service on the set date, residents can contact Chalong Municipality’s Public Health and Environment Division by calling 076-383775 ext. 30.
