The incident occurred around 5.40pm, according to a report from the Patong branch of the Kusoldharm Rescue Foundation. Rescue workers from the foundation were called to the scene and were the ones who rushed the woman to Patong Hospital.

While being transferred to the hospital, the woman was unresponsive, not breathing, and without a pulse, as detailed in the Kusoldharm Patong’s report posted at around 10pm yesterday (Apr 19).

The following morning (Apr 20), Patong Police Station confirmed the woman’s death.

The police report, citing the time of the “incident” as 6.10pm, identified the victim as "Mr Chananchida Wisetwongsa," aged 23, reaffirming previous information that the woman was a transgender individual.

According to the police report, the incident occurred on the rocks opposite the Diamond Cliff Beach Resort Hotel in Kalim, the northernmost part of Patong.

It is believed that powerful sea waves swept Ms Chananchida into the water, ultimately leading to her drowning. Investigators collaborated with medical professionals at Patong Hospital, conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death, which was confirmed as suffocation from drowning.
