The training, held on July 1-2 at the Raeng Meeting Room and Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center in Suan Sriphuwanath, was officially opened by Wichit Mayor Kreetha Chotiwichanphiphat.

Thanawat Thewadet delivered the project report, with Charan Kwankaew, Head of the Strategy and Management Group at the Phuket Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office (DDPM Phuket), also present alongside department heads from Wichit Municipality.

Staff from Wichit Municipality’s disaster prevention and mitigation division actively participated in the training, while representatives from several other agencies, including the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation (PPAO), Phuket City Municipality, Kathu Municipality, Ratsada Municipality and Central Phuket Shopping Center attended as observers.

The two-day programme was led by Panyawuth Meesompol, an expert from Q-Tech Drive 29 Co Ltd, who provided in-depth theoretical and hands-on instruction.

The training focused on understanding the electrical systems and battery structures of electric vehicles, as well as proper fire suppression techniques specific to EV fires.

The initiative aims to enhance the capacity of disaster response teams to safely and effectively manage the unique risks associated with electric vehicle fires, ensuring they can assist drivers and control incidents in line with modern safety standards, said a report of the training by Wichit Municipality.
