Following that game the two sides will square off again at Bangkok’s Rajamangala National Stadium on Mar 26, reports the Bangkok Post.

In the other Group C match on Thursday, Singapore will host China.

Thailand, coached by Japanese tactician Masatada Ishii, will be trying to pick up at least a point from the tough away game.

South Korea are the favourites to progress to third and final stage of the Asian zone qualifiers as the Group C winners.

The War Elephants were left in a tight corner after a home loss to China in their opening match of the campaign.

Before the team’s departure, Football Association of Thailand president Nualphan Lamsam announced that Theerathon Bunmathan had been appointed as the team captain for the home-and-away games with South Korea.

Sarach Yooyen and crafty playmaker Chanathip Songkrasin will be acting as Theerathon’s deputies, added Nualphan.

South Korea have also put together a strong squad for the two matches.

Paris Saint-Germain attacker Lee Kang-In was named in the team despite a bust-up with skipper Son Heung-Min at the Asian Cup.

Tottenham star Son was left with a dislocated finger after clashing with Lee before South Korea’s semi-final loss to Jordan last month.

However, both are now set to feature against Thailand.
