Deputy Mayor Suphot La-ongphet led clean up and preparation measures at the shrine, located at the intersection of Khaw Sim Bee Road and Mae Luan Road, on the way up to Khao Rang Hill in Phuket Town, where he was joined by fellow council officials and members of the public.
Everyone pitched in to help collect garbage and cut grass and weeds in the temple grounds in order to make it much more presentable ahead of the annual festival.
Furthermore, a disinfectant solution was sprayed over many parts of the grounds by workers to enhance the cleanliness and general appearance.
Further clean up exercises ahead of next week’s Vegetarian Festival are as follows:
- Am Chui Tui Tao Bo Keng, Friday, Sept 27 from 7am onwards
- Am Pud Jo, Friday, Sept 27 from 8am onwards
- Am Bang Niao (Theprasri Foundation) Saturday, Sept 28, from 8am onwards
- Aam Jeng Ong (in front of Vachira Phuket Hospital) Sunday, Sept 29, from 8am onwards
- Aam Sui Bun Tong (Lor Rong) Sunday, Sept 29, from 8am onwards
This comes after it was announced earlier this week that Phuket City Municipality is pushing ahead with a raft of road resurfacing projects throughout Phuket Town ahead of the street processions to take place as part of the Phuket Vegetarian festival starting next week.
