Officers tracked down and arrested the man, named as Artur Amirbekov, at a residence in Soi Na Suea, Moo 4, Wichit, yesterday (July 15), reported Pol Lt Col Witthaya Kunnoi of the Wichit Police.
Pol Lt Col Witthaya explained that an arrest warrant forAmirbekov was issued by the Phuket Provincial Court earlier yesterday. The warrant authorised charges including theft at night, property damage and assault causing physical or mental harm.
In placing Amirbekov under arrest, officers seized as evidence a white Yamaha Filano motorbike.
The investigation began after Amirbekov’s girlfriend reported that she was assaulted by him at a condominium in Wichit on Sunday (July 13), said Pol Lt Col Witthaya.
Amirbekov also allegedly stole cash, a mobile phone and the motorbike before fleeing.
Wichit Police investigators swiftly gathered evidence and submitted it to the Phuket Provincial Court, leading to the rapid approval of the arrest warrant, Pol Lt Col Witthaya said.
The investigative team then successfully tracked down Amirbekov, leading to his arrest, he added.
Amirbekov has been taken to the Wichit Police Station to undergo legal proceedings, Pol Lt Col Witthaya confirmed.
