US Ambassador to join consular outreach to Phuket

PHUKET: US Ambassador to Thailand Robert F. Godec will be in Phuket next week to lead a ‘Town Hall’ event to discuss consular services topics and issues affecting US citizens on the island.

The ‘Town Hall with U.S. Ambassador Godec’ event will be held at The Westin Siray Bay Resort and Spa on Thursday, Apr 4.

The event, to be held in the Siray Bay Ballroom, on the ground floor of the resort, will be held from 2pm to 3pm.

“Topics will include Mission Thailand priorities and frequently asked questions about consular services. Consul General Kathryn Flachsbart will also be present to give remarks and respond to questions,’ said a release announcing the visit.

Attendance is through registration only. To attend, people are asked to register here.

Before the topic-discussion event, US Embassy staff from the American Citizens Services Unit will provide consular services at the ‘Retreat I-II Room’ on the second floor at the resort, from 10am to 1pm.

The available services are limited to:

  • Adult passport renewal (DS-82)
  • Minor Passport – ages 0-15 (DS-11)
  • First Adult Passport – age 16 and older (DS-11)
  • Notary services

“To sign up for services, please register here. Appointments are allocated on a first come, first serve basis. We will give special consideration to those with limited mobility,” said the release.

The US Embassy noted in its release:

  • Service fees MUST be paid via Pay.gov (Adult passport renewal – DS-82)
  • or via Bank Draft (other passport services and notary services) **
  • You MUST bring originals and photocopies of all necessary documents. **
  • Return envelope MUST be paid online via ThailandPostMart.
