A representative of the condo owner, Praphaphan Meesomboon, arrived at Wichit Police Station yesterday (May 1) to press charges against the tenant, Ukrainian national Anastasia Fidanian, over property damage and failure to leave the premises on time.
The case drew widespread attention after photos of the unit, at Centrio Condominium located just south of the Darasamut Intersection, circulated on social media, showing walls and ceilings covered in drawings and messages in English.
The photos were shared online by condo owner Ms Praphaphan, along with comments of disbelief.
According to a report filed with Pol Lt Wacharakorn Suwan, Deputy Inspector of Wichit Police, the room had been rented to Ms Fidanian under a one-year lease from Apr 15, 2024, to Apr 15, 2025.
However, when the contract expired, the tenant did not move out and continued to occupy the unit beyond the agreed date.
It was not until Apr 29, around 3pm, that the tenant messaged to say she had vacated the room and left the key in a trash bin.
The caretaker for the condo, accompanied by a friend, the condominium’s security guard, and a locksmith, inspected the property and was reportedly shocked by the extent of the damage.
The caretaker stated that all electrical appliances in the unit were destroyed and the interior was defaced with writing and illustrations. The estimated cost of repairs and locksmith services was approximately B350,000.
Police are now investigating the matter. Legal action is expected to proceed against the former tenant.
However, the complaint filed with police gave no explanation as to why the former tenant, Ms Fidanian, had spray painted on one wall of the condo the number ‘32.000’ and the word ‘Swindler’.
