The accident occurred last Friday (Aug 1) when a palm oil truck collided with four vehicles while heading toward Chalong.
Three people ‒ a man, a woman and a young girl – were injured and taken to Dibuk Hospital. All have since been discharged and are out of danger.
Wichit Police Chief Pol Col Somsak Thongkliang has noiw told The Phuket News that the driver confessed to the charge and tested negative for drugs and alcohol.
“The driver explained that while exiting the underpass, a delivery truck in front braked suddenly. Carrying a heavy load of palm oil, he could not stop in time,” Pol Col Somsak said.
The trucking company has agreed to take full responsibility for compensating the injured and covering the costs of damaged property, he confirmed.
