The collision occurred at 10:44am at the entrance to the underpass, located near Central Festival Phuket. Rescue teams from the Kusoldharm Phuket Foundation responded quickly to the scene and transported the injured – a man, a woman and a young girl – to Dibuk Hospital for treatment. Their conditions have not yet been publicly disclosed.
Dashcam footage of the crash was later shared on Facebook by user ‘Paileiw Tilatum’ on the page ‘Driving like this must be exposed’. The 32-second clip shows the moment the semi-trailer slammed into another vehicle while entering the underpass. The video’s caption speculated that the truck driver may have fallen asleep or experienced brake failure.
Police are now reviewing the footage and questioning witnesses to determine the exact cause of the crash.
Authorities confirmed that the damaged vehicles have been removed from the scene and that normal traffic flow through the underpass has resumed.
Motorists are urged to continue exercising caution when passing through the area as the investigation continues.
