Acting under the policy of Tourist Police Commander Pol Lt Gen. Saksira Phueak-am, officers from Tourist Police Division 3 raided a hotel in Phuket Town where they detained the suspect, explained a brief report by Tourist Police.

The operation was led by Pol Lt Col. Pitiya Thepmuang, Senior Inspector, alongside officers from the division’s investigation unit.

The woman was charged under Thailand’s Prevention and Suppression of Prostitution Act, with police accusing her of soliciting in a manner that was open, shameful or caused public annoyance.

Although authorities have not confirmed the suspect’s nationality, some online reports have identified her as Russian.

Police say the arrest is part of an ongoing effort to uphold laws and protect the country’s image among tourists, particularly by targeting foreign nationals involved in illegal activities.
