Renowned artist Fuanglada Verdillon hand-painted the collection with a whimsical motif of lush Thai bamboo and golden dragonflies in her realistic watercolour style. The collection features Siamese Dreams’ popular pieces, including shirts, trousers, camisoles, shorts, and robes, all made from an innovative blend of 50% sustainable bamboo fabric, giving it a lustrous sheen. The enchanting bamboo tunnel leading to The Pavilions Phuket inspired the pattern, symbolizing a gateway to tranquillity and sanctuary.
Mika Wassenaar, the founder of Siamese Dreams, explained the philosophy behind their loungewear. It is designed to facilitate the transition from work to rest, providing wearers with a sense of peace and comfort through calming aesthetics and fabrics. The collaboration between The Pavilions Phuket and Siamese Dreams was born out of a shared passion for the beauty of Thailand and a desire to help people find rest and sanctuary. Siamese Dreams pays homage to the beauty, culture, and charisma of Phuket, with all products created by Thailand-based designers and artisans. The brand prioritizes environmental sustainability by using digital printing techniques to minimize water waste and chemicals.
The Phuket-based Charity “Seeds of Change” teaches underprivileged individuals sewing and crafting skills to create fabric elephant souvenirs and Beach Bags (Large Tote and Clutch) sold at The Pavilions Phuket’s Siamese Dreams pop-up, with proceeds benefiting the charity.
At a gala event, the collection was launched at The Pavilions Phuket’s ALTO Italian Restaurant. Guests enjoyed a delightful four-course dinner with drink pairings, followed by beverages and canapes. The Bamboo Bar served tropical-themed drinks, and an elegantly designed Bamboo Bedroom allowed attendees to try the collection in a stunning bedroom setting. The event featured a silent auction, including handmade fabric elephants from Seeds of Change, a day aboard a catamaran, a VIP speedboat ride, dinner at ALTO, spa vouchers, and an overnight stay in a Pool Villa at The Pavilions Phuket. The event served as both a collection launch and a fundraiser, with all proceeds benefiting Seeds of Change.
Enjoy the collection by purchasing the pieces from the The Pavilions Phuket Hotel Lobby.
