The two leading ladies playing the key roles in the annual tribute event was announced at a press conference at the Chartered Bank intersection in Phuket Town on Sunday (Mar 2), presided over by Phuket Vice Governor Governor Samawit Suphanphai and other key officials.
Tubtim, a 34-year-old actress most recently known for her role in the 2024 film ‘Mae Nak Talu Miti’, will portray the character of ‘Ya Mook’, while Nui, a 45-year-old film actress and former national taekwondo champion, will play ‘Ya Jun’.
At the announcement, both actresses expressed their honour and excitement about portraying these revered historical figures.
The tribute event will be performed at the Thalang Memorial Field in Tambon Thepkrasattri each night from Mar 13-15.
The traditional spectacular historical drama performance will feature alongside cultural exhibitions, local food and OTOP product sales at the site.
The schedule for the three days includes:
March 13:
- 17:00 – OTOP product and local food sales begin
- 18:30 – Gathering at Thalang City Memorial
- 19:00 – Opening ceremony of ‘Praise to Thao Thep Krasattri and Thao Sri Soonthorn’
- 20:00 – Light and Sound Historical Drama Performance
March 14-15:
- 17:00 – OTOP product and local food sales begin
- 20:00 – Light and Sound Historical Drama Performance
This event aims to honour the bravery of Thao Thep Krasattri and Thao Sri Soonthorn, the ‘Heroines of Thalang’, while promoting Phuket’s rich culture and boosting its tourism industry.
The public and tourists are encouraged to attend and experience the historical and cultural essence of Phuket.
