Phuket Town is hosting the "Band Competition of Thailand Phuket 2024" this weekend (Apr 27-28) after an announcement in January.
Marching bands from across the country have come to Phuket to compete in the events, which include solo performances, small group performances and a full marching band parade through the streets of Phuket Town.
The parade tomorrow will begin at 5pm, starting from the old Daeng Plaza on Phuket Rd. The marching bands will continue and turn left onto Ratsada Rd, turn right onto Takua Pa Rd, turn right onto Phang Nga Rd and continue to the Chartered Bank Intersection, then turn left at the Taew Nam Intersection then turn right and continue to the ‘Dragon Plaza’ at Queen Sirikit Park, where the parade will conclude.
“Such processions may cause inconvenience to the use of travel routes,” Phuket City Municipality said in its announcement posted late yesterday.
“Please avoid this route, and [we] apologise for the inconvenience on this occasion,” the announcement said.
