The award, which represents first place at the provincial level, was presented at a ceremony held at Phuket Provincial Hall yesterday (Nov 27).
Phuket Governor Sophon Suwannarat presided over the event, handing the award to Srisoonthorn Mayor Chalermphon Kerdsap and Srisoonthorn Municipality Chief Administration Officer (Palad) Watcharin Chetananon.
Mayor Chalermphon expressed pride in the achievement, emphasising that it reflects the municipality’s dedication to holistic development and community well-being.
“Our goal is to transform Srisoonthorn Subdistrict into a thriving and sustainable area by fostering collaboration, enhancing coordination, and building strong networks for the benefit of the people,” he said.
Mr Chalermphon highlighted the municipality’s two key focus areas:
- Public Assistance Management: Ensuring residents receive effective care and support, enhancing their quality of life.
- Rabies Prevention and Control: Implementing proactive measures to make the area safer and free from rabies, creating a welcoming and livable environment for both residents and visitors.
“These initiatives aim to create a community where people can live happily and safely while leaving a positive impression on visitors,” Mayor Chalermphon added.
Mayor Chalermphon stands apart by blaming construction and development that obstructs natural water runoff as primary causes of recurring floods in the fast-developing areas of Srisoonthorn and Tambon Thepkrasattri.
