Wichit Police were alerted to the incident at around 8:50pm and dispatched officers to the scene, an abandoned building near the Makro store in Moo 5.
Pol Lt Fonthip Kaewsaen, Deputy Inspector (Investigation), led the initial response and informed Wichit Police Chief Pol Col Somsak Thongkliang.
On arrival, officers found the body of Phanu Kanoknak lying face down near a wall inside the building. He was wearing a black T-shirt and shorts.
According to police, Mr Phanu had left his home in Soi Nimit, Moo 4, Wichit, on his motorbike following an argument with his wife, Namthip Boonprakom. His son, Pakin Kanoknak, went out to look for him and found the motorbike parked near the abandoned structure. As he approached the building, he heard a noise and discovered his father’s body inside.
Forensic officers and a doctor from Vachira Phuket Hospital examined the scene and conducted a preliminary examination.
The body was then taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital by Kusoldharm Phuket Foundation rescue workers for a full post-mortem examination to confirm the cause of death.
At last report police were continuing their investigation.
