A social media post with the heading “Patong Taxi Drivers Are Very Horny!” appeared yesterday (Sept 7) explaining that a particular motorcycle taxi driver had been acting in a very suggestive and harrassing manner to female passengers, which drew the attention of Patong Police officers.
The post did not stipulate whether this harrassment was merely verbal or physical, nor did any official reports from Patong Police. Similarly, the social media channel on which the post appeared was not named.
Following initial investigations, officers managed to track down the implicated man around 8:30pm yesterday (Sept 7) at the taxi queue at 200 Rat Uthit Road in Patong.
He was questioned by police in relation to the claims before admitting that “he had flirted with the female passenger” as stated on the social media page.
The man was then taken to Patong Police station where officers subsequently warned him as to his conduct, specifically stating for him not to engage in any suggestive and threatening behaviour of a sexual nature in future.
The motorcycle taxi driver, who was unnamed in police reports, was also issued with a fine and further warning for operating a vehicle that was not registered and for not possessing a valid driver’s license.
