Officers apprehended the 25-year-old woman (name withheld) late on Tuesday night (May 20) at a villa in the Cherng Talay area. Officers say they seized evidence at the scene, including banknotes used in a sting operation and condoms found in her possession.
The arrest was carried out by officers from Investigation Division 2 of the Tourist Police Division 3, following orders issued under a national crime suppression campaign running from May 15 to 22, police reported.
The campaign, ordered by Tourist Police Commander Pol Lt Gen. Saksira Pueak-am, aims to enforce laws strictly ‒ particularly those involving foreigners who violate Thai laws, said an official report of the arrest.
The Russian woman was taken to Cherng Talay Police Station where she was charged with soliciting prostitution through public advertisement or recommendation ‒ a violation under Thai law, police noted.
