The policy was presented during the 2025 regular meeting of the PPAO Council on Wednesday (Mar 12).
The session was attended by Phuket Vice Governor Samawit Suphanphai, representatives from government agencies, private sector leaders and members of the PPAO Council.
Mr Rewat emphasised that the policy framework was developed based on public concerns and needs, ensuring an inclusive and effective approach to governance.
The objective is to elevate the PPAO into a service-driven organisation, prioritising public welfare while adhering to good governance principles, he said.
“We are committed to transforming Phuket into a province that is safe, modern and economically creative. This vision will only be achieved through collaboration between government bodies, civil servants, private stakeholders and the people of Phuket,” he stated.
The policy framework focuses on nine key areas to enhance Phuket’s administration and quality of life:
- Administration, Politics, and Local Government Policy – Strengthening local governance and administrative efficiency.
- Public Health Policy – Improving healthcare services and public health initiatives.
- Education Development Policy – Enhancing educational infrastructure and learning opportunities.
- Tourism Development Policy – Boosting Phuket’s appeal as a global tourism hub.
- Quality of Life, Economic, and Social Development Policy – Addressing social welfare and economic stability.
- Infrastructure Development Policy – Modernizing transportation and urban infrastructure.
- Information Technology (IT) Development Policy – Advancing digital transformation and smart city initiatives.
- Natural Resources and Environmental Development Policy – Promoting sustainability and environmental conservation.
- Anti-Corruption Policy – Ensuring transparency and ethical governance.
Mr Rewat concluded his address by urging council members, government officials, private sector partners and local residents to work together in realizing this vision.
“With unity and dedication, we can create a Phuket that is not only safe and modern but also economically vibrant for the long-term benefit of all residents,” he added.
