With all 392 polling units reporting, Mr Rewat, representing the Phuket Yat Dai Party, received 86,616 votes, outpacing his closest rival, Lersak Leenanitikul of the Prachachon Party (People’s Party), who garnered 44,602 votes. Independent candidate Srithep Udomlap received 2,228 votes.
A total of 144,978 voters took part in the election, representing 46% of eligible voters. Additionally, 7,282 voters (5%) chose the “no vote” option, while 4,250 ballots (3%) were deemed invalid, confirmed the Phuket branch of the Election commission of Thailand (ECT Phuket).
ECT Phuket reminded people that at this stage the results were still considered unofficial. The ballots will be sent to the Election Commission head office in Bangkok for confirmation.
Regardless, ECT Phuket has also announced results of election of PPAO Council members, representing electorates across the island.
According to the results, Phuket Yat Dai swept the board, winning 21 of the 24 seats on the PPAO Council*. Phuket Yat Dai won 12 of the 14 seats in Muang Phuket District, six of seven seats in Thalang District and all three seats in Kathu District, as follows:
Mueang Phuket District
- District 1: Pairoj Ruamphanphong (Phuket Yat Dai) won with 3,661 votes, defeating Phakphon Liwruangsuwan (People’s Party) with 1,437 votes.
- District 2: Boon-um Ueajittrakul (independent) secured victory with 1,832 votes, followed by Monchai Tadthong (People’s Party) with 1,406 votes and Thep Phisitnawakun (Phuket Yat Dai) (1,111 votes).
- District 3: Chariya Charoenjiratrakul (Phuket Yat Dai) led with 2,804 votes, ahead of Nattawee Saengchan (Phuket Yat Dai) (1,749 votes) and Ekkanat Ekbunyarat (independent) with 382 votes.
- District 4: Piwat Yangyuen (Phuket Yat Dai) won with 3,013 votes, beating Winyu Chongkitthana (People’s Party) with 1,809 votes.
- District 5: Wirawong Chorsakul (Phuket Yat Dai) received 3,504 votes, while Korn Meekaewnoi (People’s Party) followed with 1,925 votes.
- District 6: Chayut Kaewklin (Phuket Yat Dai) won with 3,121 votes, ahead of Jirateep Nawarak (People’s Party) with 2,199 votes.
- District 7: Sutthikit Saetan (independent) secured 2,524 votes, followed by Chatchai Chueachit (independent) with 2,254 votes and Pathumwan Inchan (People’s Party) with 913 votes.
- District 8: Chusak Sematrakul (Phuket Yat Dai) led with 2,631 votes, ahead of Witit Songpong (People’s Party) with 1,279 votes and Ekkarong Pilwan (Phuket Yat Dai) with 2,140 votes.
- District 9: Wachirawit Phuengrang (Phuket Yat Dai) won with 3,205 votes, defeating Loetsachai Kwannil (People’s Party) with 2,091 votes.
- District 10: Preechapat Khonwilaikun (Phuket Yat Dai) received 2,732 votes, while Saphaya Wichakkhawut (People’s Party) garnered 2,100 votes.
- District 11: Usa Sukprasit (Phuket Yat Dai) won with 3,456 votes, ahead of Worawut Utsaha (People’s Party) with 2,096 votes.
- District 12: Apiwan Sukhotu (Phuket Yat Dai) led with 3,250 votes, followed by Kriangkrai Boonchan (People’s Party) with 1,619 votes.
- District 13: Opas Chobdee (Phuket Yat Dai) won with 4,254 votes, defeating Rungroj Phongmak (People’s Party) with 1,625 votes.
- District 14: Kraiwut Khumban (Phuket Yat Dai) secured 3,958 votes, ahead of Prasat Keomit (People’s Party) with 1,180 votes.
Thalang District
- District 1: Nopphan Suebsak (Phuket Yat Dai) won with 3,372 votes, defeating Witthaya Koliyanon (People’s Party) with 1,590 votes.
- District 2: Chaiwat Buasawat (Phuket Yat Dai) secured 2,559 votes, followed by Phiraphat Chaturaphuchakulphong (1,633 votes) and Nikhom Thongchaem (522 votes).
- District 3: Nontakan Kanchanasawat (Phuket Yat Dai) led with 1,603 votes, with Sanya Singhsrida (independent) with 1,585 votes, Aphisit Nganprasertkit (Phuket Yat Dai) with 1,151 votes, Pairoj Sahot (Phuket Yat Dai) with 830 votes, and Muhammad Racha Firdaus (independent) (141 votes) trailing.
- District 4: Phongsakon Panyawai (Phuket Yat Dai) won with 3,663 votes, ahead of Wiraphat Muedthip (1,725 votes).
- District 5: Phanupong Chaiyo (Phuket Yat Dai) led with 2,638 votes, followed by Phawanon Sombat (2,239 votes) and Phadit Ekkarat (381 votes).
- District 6: Apinan Wongna won (Phuket Yat Dai) with 3,433 votes, ahead of Aphisit Boontaeng (1,925 votes).
- District 7: Wimwipa Maliwan (independent) secured 3,739 votes, narrowly defeating Andaman Kreuaphanich (Phuket Yat Dai) with 3,512 votes.
Kathu District
- District 1: Wichai Kiettitansakun (Phuket Yat Dai) won with 2,890 votes, defeating Kunakorn Kasemphakdi (People’s Party) with 1,902 votes.
- District 2: Setthasak Buason (Phuket Yat Dai) secured victory with 3,132 votes, ahead of Amara Kawikhet (People’s Party) with 1,813 votes.
- District 3: Suphachat Kitdamnoen (Phuket Yat Dai) received 3,075 votes, followed by Thinawut Pensuk (People’s Party) with 1,910 votes and Chaiphruek Krailert (independent) with 1,390 votes.
The Election Commission is expected to certify the results in the coming days.
