For decades the annual fair was called simply the ‘Red Cross Fair’, then for a handful of years it was rebranded by officials as the ‘Dee Phuket’ fair.

According to the latest report announcing the fair dates for this year, the fair is now to be called the ‘Phuket Good Things 2025’ festival.

The fair this year will be held at the traditional site at the Saphan Hin Centre Stage area, from Dec 29 to Jan 6.

The much-anticipated annual showcase of the province’s finest products and cultural heritage, said a report of a “planning meeting” chaired by Phuket Governor Sophon Suwannarat earlier this week.

Highlights include cultural performances, local crafts and a Red Cross charity lottery with a Toyota Fortuner as the top prize, the report said.

The event aims to promote Phuket’s unique culture, food and traditions, showcase local agricultural and ‘One Tambon, One Product’ (OTOP) products, and enhance Phuket’s tourism appeal through vibrant cultural and entertainment activities.

The annual event still aims to raise funds to support activities by the Phuket branch of the Red Cross Society of Thailand, of which Governor Sophon’s wife, Ms Busadee, is the current president, simply because she is the Governor’s wife.

At the popular festival, which each year draws crowds of thousands each night, visitors can look forward to a wide range of activities, including daily music performances by renowned artists., a Thai Fabric Fashion Show featuring government officials and local celebrities, a ‘Nang Talung’ shadow puppet performance by the famed southern artist Nong Diao.

There will be exhibits and booths offering local crafts, OTOP products, and special offerings from government agencies, including affordable goods and unique items created by prisoners from the Phuket Corrections Department, that is, products made by prisoners at Phuket Provincial Prison.

The Red Cross Charity Lottery will be drawn on Jan 6, Governor Sophon confirmed.

The prizes include:

- 1st Prize: Toyota Fortuner Legender (1 prize).

- 2nd Prize: Honda City SV (1 prize).

- 3rd Prize: Honda PCX motorcycles (2 prizes).

- 4th Prize: Samsung Galaxy S24 (3 prizes).

- 5th Prize: Apple iPads (7 prizes).

- 6th Prize: Rice cookers (80 prizes for matching the last three digits).

Tickets are already available for B100 baht each and can be bought at the Phuket Red Cross Office, Phuket Provincial Administrative Office, or district offices.

Alternatively, people can attend the fair and buy tickets in person.
