Books of condolences have been opened at Phuket Provincial Hall and at all district offices — Mueang, Kathu and Thalang — allowing members of the public to pay their respects and offer messages of remembrance.
The signing area at Provincial Hall is open daily from 8:30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, and books will remain available for one year. Further locations will be announced by the province.
The public may also participate in water blessing ceremonies held before portraits of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, across the island. Residents are encouraged to attend in mourning attire to express their condolences and gratitude for Her Majesty’s lifelong devotion to the Thai people.
Government officials have been assisting throughout the ceremonies to ensure order and accommodate the steady flow of mourners attending since early morning.
At Phuket Provincial Hall, the ceremony was held in a solemn and respectful atmosphere, with many residents coming to pour water before Her Majesty’s portrait and sign the condolence book.
Phuket Governor Saransak Srikruanetra today (Oct 27) signed the official book of condolences at the main hall of Phuket Provincial Hall, expressing his “deepest and immeasurable gratitude” for Her Majesty’s grace.
In Thalang District, a water blessing ceremony took place yesterday (Oct 26) at Wat Manik in Srisoonthorn, led by District Chief Siwat Rawangkun, together with local officials, the private sector, and residents.
Ceremonies were also held yesterday at the Mueang District Office and Kathu District Office. District Chiefs Pairoj Srilamul and Akkaraphon Suthirak Chittsuphap respectively presided over the events, joined by government officers, community leaders and members of the public.
All three district ceremonies were conducted simultaneously in accordance with the Ministry of Interior’s resolution for provinces nationwide to hold water blessing ceremonies to allow citizens to express their condolences to Her Majesty the Queen Mother.
