The exercise simulated the hospital being on fire, with patients in need of rescue on multiple floors.
PPAO President Rewat Areerob led the rehearsal, which included participation from various PPAO executives, hospital staff and other relevant agencies.
The exercise yesterday was one of a series of training sessions held over three days from Wednesday through Friday (Aug 21-23).
The first two days were held at The Pago Design Hotel in Ratsada, where participants took part in ‘tabletop’ exercises.
On the final day, a tabletop exercise focused on fire prevention and suppression in high-rise buildings was conducted at the hospital.
Trainers included several disaster prevention experts from different local offices, with the main goal of improving knowledge and understanding of fire prevention, disaster management and evacuation procedures.
The training aimed to ensure that participants are well-prepared to respond effectively in real situations, enhancing cooperation in disaster prevention and mitigation, reducing potential losses, and promoting a positive image of Phuket, said Mr Rewat.
