Inception in 2012, the marina has operational launch in 2018 with 49 wet berths and a 9,000 sq.m boatyard area with 38 tons Roodberg trailer boat lift. In 2022, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) has approved for a 300-berths marina. Pier G was introduced after, providing 25 wet berths for vessels up to 35 metres at the T-Head.

This upcoming phase will see the addition of Piers B and C, creating 80 wet berths for yachts ranging from 10 to 25 metres. Pier L, a new public passenger pier, will enhance connectivity by supporting daily ferry services to Krabi Town. These pontoons expansion is expected to complete in April this year.

Enhancements to the marina facilities will include the Capitainerie, a single-story administrative building featuring a 15-metre swimming pool, high standard bathrooms, a marina office, a meeting room, and a convenient/marine parts store. Construction will commence in early March and available for service toward end of 2025.

Matthew na Nagara, General Manager of Port Takola Yacht Marina, highlights the driving force behind the expansion: the growing demand for berths as the region recovers from the impact of Covid-19. “Our vision is to foster a welcoming yachting community. Krabi’s reputation as a desirable berthing destination for the Andaman Sea continues to rise, thanks to its abundant stunning sailing scene, strategic developments such as Central’s mixed-use project in Krabi Town, and the recently expanded Krabi International Airport. These factors, combined with the province’s unspoiled natural beauty, make it an ideal destination for both retirees and travelers seeking tranquility.”

Port Takola Yacht Marina is a cherished project of the Na Nagara family, situated on a historical estate that was once a coconut plantation. Just 10 minutes from Ao Nang and across the river from Krabi Town, the marina was envisioned by Surgeon Admiral Suriya Na Nagara RTN to offer year-round shelter, convenient town access, and proximity to some of the region’s most picturesque islands, all within a serene garden setting.
