Between 9pm and 10pm last Friday night (Sept 19), officers from the station’s Patrol Unit 3 stopped the bikes in a targeted operation aimed at curbing noise pollution and illegal modifications.
The patrol was conducted under the direction of Phuket City Police Chief Pol Col Chatree Chukaew, with supervision by Pol Lt Col Ratchapas Buakaew, Pol Lt Col Piya Yongpradem and Pol Lt Boonpop Tinbut, Phuket City Police reported.
The six motorcycles were impounded for further inspection and legal action.
Actual charges and fines levied against the six offenders were not reported.
Police reminded riders that altering exhaust systems to increase noise levels violates traffic and environmental laws and carries penalties including fines and possible vehicle confiscation.
