Phuket Provincial Police Commander Pol Maj Gen Sinlert Sukhum led the talks, held at the 191 Incident Report Center at Phuket Provincial Police headquarters in Phuket Town, emphasising safety measures for tourists both on land and at sea.
Present for the meeting were, Phuket Provincial Police Deputy Commander Pol Col Teerawat Liamsuwan along with Pol Col Padthongtew Damapong, Superintendent of the Phuket Airport Immigration Checkpoint; Pol Lt Col. Ekkachai Siri, Inspector General of the Phuket Tourist Police; and Lertchai Wangtrakuldee, Director of TAT Phuket Office.
Notably present actively participating in the meeting were representatives from the private sector, including tour operators and Sarayuth Mallam, Vice President of Government Relations at the Phuket Tourist Association.
The collaborative effort aimed to establish guidelines for safety measures, garnering support and cooperation from business operators.
The focus of the discussion was on tourists strictly adhering to provincial and national regulations and laws for their safety throughout their stay in the region.
Pol Maj Gen Sinlert reiterated that the police were fully prepared to ensure the convenience and safety of both citizens and tourists, prioritising the protection of life and property.
During the meeting, a range of safety measures was discussed, covering both land and sea, with an emphasis on instilling confidence in tourism and maintaining Phuket’s image as a secure destination for global visitors, said on official report of the meeting.
