The visit, to include inspections and discussions with local people in Phuket and Phang Nga, is to continue today and tomorrow (Aug 25-26).
Before departing for Phuket, Mr Srettha met the executives of Suvarnabhumi Airport to listen to problems in using Suvarnabhumi Airport.
Joining the Prime Minister were Dr Prommin Lertsuridej, Chairman of the Policy Committee along with Tourism Policy Working Group members Chakraphon Tangsuthitam, Sudawan Wangsupakijkosol, Jakkaphong Sangmanee, Kanaphot Jomrit and Suksit Srichomkwan.
After arriving at Phuket International Airport at about 11am this morning on Thai Smile Flight WE285, Mr Srettha and his delegation engaged in discussions regarding the potential expansion of Phuket Airport.
The aim is to enhance the airport’s capacity to accommodate the growing number of tourists, with discussions including airport management.
According to Mr Srettha’s official itinerary, this afternoon he will participate in a meeting centered around innovative strategies for Phuket’s development. This meeting, to be held at the Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Chao Fah on Chao Fa West Rd in Wichit, will involve interactions with local business operators.
In the evening, Mr Sretta will engage with business owners and tourists in the Old Phuket Town area. Later, he will be addressing the challenges related to establishing enjoyable attractions for tourists in the Patong Beach area.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to travel to Phang Nga tomorrow (Aug 26). There, he will join a meeting centered around health tourism along the Andaman coast.
Following that meeting tomorrow, the prime minister will return to Bangkok.
