Joining Mayor Saroj were key city officials, including Deputy Mayor Suphot La-ongphet, Secretary to the Mayor Niti Petchpradabsakul, Advisor to the Mayor Chuea Kongchin, Phuket City Council President Wanarat Phruekpratin, Vice President Thanatphat Thanirat along with council members, Waterworks Division Director Charan Klaewthanong, and other government representatives.

Mayor Saroj emphasised the importance of providing clean and safe tap water to Phuket Town residents.

The water sampled in the project had been quality tested by relevant agencies and met the Department of Health’s standards, Mayor Saroj said.

At the event yesterday, Deputy Mayor Suphot presented the results of the water quality tests, conducted by Southern Thai Consulting Co Ltd in Srisoonthorn, to the public.

However, further improvements to the water pipe system are necessary to ensure that tap water reaching households remains clean and safe for consumption, Mayor Saroj explained.

Currently, officials are studying the existing water infrastructure and planning operations to expand the project, Mayor Saroj said.

“The long-term goal is to enhance Phuket’s municipal water system, ensuring all residents have access to high-quality drinking water in the future,” Mayor Saroj said.
