The ‘Phuket Ded Tang Koh’ (‘Phuket - The Best Island’) initiative ran from Aug 21-25, combining promotions at one of Thailand’s biggest domestic travel fairs with a dedicated business-to-business (B2B) networking roadshow in Bangkok.
From Aug 21-24, more than 22 Phuket entrepreneurs joined the 75th Thai Tiew Thai event at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, offering special accommodation and travel packages discounted by up to 60%. The strong promotions drew significant attention from both Thai and international travellers.
The campaign continued on Aug 25 with a B2B Roadshow Networking event at The Landmark Bangkok Hotel, where more than 45 Phuket tourism operators showcased their services to over 60 business partners from Bangkok and nearby provinces. The event provided a platform for building new business networks and negotiating long-term cooperation.
Leading the Phuket delegation was Phuket Tourist Association President Thaneth Tantipiriyakij, joined by members of the executive committee and TAT Phuket Director Siriwan Siharat.
They were welcomed by TAT Board Member and Deputy Director for Tourism Strategy at the Tourism Council of Thailand, Bhummikitti Ruktaengam, who underlined the importance of such events in strengthening links between Phuket’s tourism sector and key domestic markets.
“The collaboration between the public and private sectors ensures continuous support for these kinds of initiatives, which are vital for enhancing Phuket’s tourism potential in both domestic and international arenas,” Mr Bhummikitti said.
Also addressing the event, Suratwadee Phetriang, Senior Manager of TCEB’s Southern Region Office, presented updates on Phuket’s MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) sector.
She highlighted the island’s readiness as a global MICE hub, citing its infrastructure, meeting venues, transportation, and supporting activities. She also outlined plans to further strengthen cooperation with the private sector to drive sustainable growth in Phuket’s MICE industry.
The roadshow offered a warm and collaborative atmosphere, with Phuket operators presenting a wide variety of hotels, resorts, tours and activities, while Bangkok-based agents explored partnership opportunities and negotiated promotional packages.
Organisers said the event not only reaffirmed Phuket’s reputation as “the best island-wide” tourism destination, but also reinforced the island’s long-term strategy of sustainable growth through stronger market connectivity.
