The event aimed to strengthen tourism ties between Phuket and India, attracting more visitors to the island province.

Led by PTA President Thaneth Tantipiriyakij and supported by Akkrawat Sirithanthanakorn, PPAO Secretary, the delegation brought over 30 Phuket-based entrepreneurs to participate in the Pre-SATTE & SATTE 2025 event in India.

The Phuket Roadshow kicked off on Feb 14 in Bangalore, at the ‘Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru at Embassy ONE’, where Itsada Saowaros, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Mumbai office attended as a guest of honour.

The event continued in Mumbai on Feb 17 at The St Regis Mumbai with Donwit Poolsawat, Thai Consul-General in Mumbai, presiding over the opening ceremony.

Following these promotional efforts, the delegation joined SATTE 2025 (South Asia Travel and Tourism Exchange) from Feb 19-21 at Yashobhoomi India International Convention & Expo Centre, New Delhi.

Recognised as South Asia’s largest tourism promotion event, SATTE 2025 featured over 1,200 exhibitors from across the globe, offering a significant platform for networking and business development.

The opening ceremony of the Thailand booth on Feb 19 was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Jakraphol Tangsutthitham, Assistant Minister to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports; Nattareeya Thaweewong, Permanent Secretary of Tourism and Sports; Thiraphat Mongkolnavin, Deputy Ambassador of Thailand to New Delhi; Phatthanong Na Chiang Mai, TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing in Asia and South Pacific; and Thirasin Theppan, TAT Deputy Governor for Policy and Planning.

The Phuket delegation’s roadshow and participation in SATTE 2025 focused on boosting Indian tourism to Phuket, emphasising various travel segments, including leisure, family vacations, honeymooners, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) and wedding tourism.

Indian tourists represent a significant market for Phuket’s tourism sector, with a target of attracting 2.3 million visitors and generating over B100 billion in revenue in 2025, said an official report of the events.
