The exhibition, being held at the Phuket Old Town Community Center in Phuket Town, will see a variety of works such as paintings and sculptures from Thai and overseas artists, including works from Japan, Singapore, Vietnam, France, China, South Korea, Nepal, Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Organised by the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation (PPAO) in conjunction with the International Association of Visual Artists of Thailand, the official opening ceremony will take place on Saturday at 4pm and will be presided over by PPAO President Rewat Areerob.
The exhibition is on display until Aug 31, from 8:30am to 4pm daily and will feature art and sculptures influenced and taking inspiration from a variety of factors including the environment, everyday people in everyday life and religion.
Featured Thai artists include Preecha Thaowthong, Haritorn Akaraphat showcasing “Aesthetic Gate Na Phuket” and Phongsathon Chitchonlathan who profiles Phuket culture and the close affinity to the sea. Other works from a range of international artists will also be on show for the viewing public’s pleasure, organisers said.
