Kuheng Yaowahasan, Secretary to the Ministry of Justice, will preside over the opening ceremony and meet directly with attendees.
In preparation for the event, Wichian Chaisorn, Director of the Phuket Provincial Justice Office, led a coordination workshop at the Phuket Provincial Hall earlier this week.
The meeting was attended by senior representatives from the Phuket Provincial Police, various government agencies, commercial banks and financial institutions.
Key agenda items included finalising logistics for the event, arranging for legal and financial education booths, coordinating mediation services and ensuring accessible support for participants.
This marks the sixth installment of the national debt settlement initiative, which aims to open up access to the justice system, reduce debt burdens, and prevent legal action against debtors, said an official report of the meeting.
On-site services will include debt mediation for various categories such as:
- Student Loan Fund debt
- Credit card and personal loans
- Car hire-purchase debt
- Government-officer-related loans
Participants will receive free legal consultation, the chance to restructure debt based on income, and information about their rights from multiple government and financial institutions.
Agencies from the Ministry of Justice, the Department of Enforcement and other justice network partners will operate service booths throughout the two-day event.
The Phuket Provincial Justice Office encourages all debtors, creditors, and concerned individuals to attend and take advantage of the resources and support available, the report said.
