More than 65 food vendors and 25 leading fashion shops from across the country will be taking part in the event, explained Noanchan Samart Khumban, President of the Phuket Andaman Muslim Women’s Association, speaking at the press launch for the event.
Joining Ms Noanchan for the announcement were key local figures, including Lertchai Wangtrakuldee, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (Phuket Office) and Wirintra Phaphakitchyotphat, Vice President of the Tourism Council of Thailand’s Andaman Group.
The event is set to take place from Oct 31 to Nov 3, at Lan Kai Tao, Phuket City Gate, in Thalang, Ms Noanchan announced.
“The event will feature a range of activities from 3pm to 11pm, offering visitors the opportunity to shop, eat, and enjoy various entertainment options,”: she said.
“Attendees can expect to explore over 65 halal food stalls and 25 fashion and accessory shops, with a focus on Muslim-friendly products,” she added.
In addition to shopping, the event will host special talks and discussions with renowned speakers from various fields. The discussions will take place daily, offering insights into topics that appeal to a wide audience, she added.
The event is considered a way to strengthen the relationship between Thai Buddhists and Thai Muslims or Thai-Chinese people in Phuket and Phang Nga Provinces, as well as to stimulate the economy, generate income for the people and attract tourists to Phuket Province, noted an official report of the press launch.
Proceeds from the event, after deducting expenses, will be donated to the Nurun Islamiyah Mosque at Cape Panwa to help buy land for a cemetery.
