Governor Sophon announced his public invitation during a press conference held at Phuket Provincial Hall yesterday (Nov 27).
Joining him were Kamolphan Chalermskulrat, Deputy Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Phuket office, and Wirintra Phaphakitchyotphat, Vice President of the Tourism Council of Thailand’s Region 11 office (Andaman Cluster)
Ms Wirintra outlined the key features of the event, which is being organised by the Phuket branch of the Tourism Council Thailand in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), and the Department of Tourism.
The three-day event will bring together over 100 tourism operators, including tour companies, airlines, wellness entrepreneurs, hotels and local restaurants, to showcase the diverse offerings of Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi, Ranong, Trang and Satun provinces.
Event highlights include concerts by Thai artists, such as Dome Jaruwat on Dec 6 and Luang Kai on Dec 8.
Special promotions and offers from tourism businesses will be on offer as well as food stalls, exhibitions and entertainment across the three-day event, and prizes and giveaways.
The event stalls will be lined up along the Saphan Hin water front. PKCD (’Phuket Smart Bus’) will provided free electric bus transport from the heart of Phuket Town to the event site.
Ms Kamolphan emphasised that the event reflects TAT’s commitment to promoting sustainable and competitive tourism in Phuket and the broader Andaman region.
“This initiative aims to attract quality tourists while enhancing Phuket’s reputation as a world-class destination,” she said.
The event is projected to generate more than B300 million revenue from event participation and trade negotiations, and at least B100mn from direct trade agreements.
The event is expected to have a total industry impact of B500mn across various sectors in the Andaman region, Ms Kamolphan said.
