The nominations will be submitted to the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security for consideration to receive the prestigious Royal Shield of Honour.

The selection committee convened at Phuket Provincial Hall earlier this week. The meeting was chaired by Phuket Vice Governor Samawit Suphanphai, with the participation of relevant agencies.

The selection process, conducted under Phuket Province Order No. 3949/2024, aims to recognise individuals, groups and organisations for outstanding achievements across several fields, including social development, education, sports, recreation, technology, career development, religion, arts and culture, environmental conservation and mass media.

After a public call for nominations, the committee reviewed submissions from various agencies, educational institutions, and organisations. The following nominees were selected to represent Phuket Province in four categories:

  • Outstanding National Children and Youth Category: Kanruthai Raktaengam, a secondary school student at Triam Udom Suksa School.
  • Outstanding National Children and Youth Group Category: Pa Khlok Municipality Children and Youth Council.
  • Individuals who have contributed to children and youth: Natthakanya Saengpho.
  • Organisations that have contributed to children and youth: SOS Children’s Villages Phuket.

Vice Governor Samawit emphasised that the initiative not only honours exceptional individuals and groups but also plays a crucial role in promoting the development and potential of Thailand’s younger generation, contributing to the sustainable growth of society.

The nominees will now await the national selection process to determine the recipients of the Royal Shield of Honour, which will be awarded during the National Youth Day celebrations later this year.
