The event, held at 7pm and themed ‘Uniting for Good: 48 Years of Phuket Rotary Club Honor’, was presided over by Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation (PPAO) President Rewat Areerob.

Rotary Club of Phuket President Sathaporn Chuesathapasiri (Rotary Year 2025-2026) welcomed Rotary members from across Thailand along with partners from the club’s nationwide network.

Mr Sathaporn said the gathering served as a collective declaration of the club’s continuing mission to benefit Phuket and Thai society. He paid tribute to former club leaders and emphasised the organisation’s long-standing values.

“Today is not just a meeting, but a reflection of the values and honor of the Phuket Rotary Club over the past 48 years. We share the same spirit: working to help society and continuously improve the quality of life for our fellow citizens,” he said.

The ceremony also included a moment of remembrance for the gracious guidance of His Majesty the King and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, whom members regard as inspirations for public service and community upliftment.

Founded on Nov 12, 1977, the Rotary Club of Phuket is one of the oldest Rotary clubs in Southern Thailand. Over nearly five decades, it has played a leading role in public health initiatives, educational support, environmental protection, assistance for vulnerable groups and disaster response.

The club has also supported learning opportunities for children and youth, resources for people with disabilities, and long-term community quality-of-life programmes. Its active cooperation with Rotary clubs in Thailand and abroad has helped cement its role as a key contributor to civil society in Phuket.

The club’s legacy and ongoing projects continue to highlight the impact of Rotary’s humanitarian mission in the province.
