The “Phuket Roadshow to India 2024” was held in Mumbai on Monday (Feb 19), led by PTA President Thaneth Tantipiriyakij.
The roadshow was supported by the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation (PPAO) and Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).
Joining the launch event of the roadshow were a host of PPAO councilors along with Isada Saowarot, Director of the TAT Mumbai Office, and Donwit Poolsawat, Consul-General of Thailand in Mumbai.
In total, 29 tour operators from Phuket joined the event, showcasing what the island has to offer tourists visiting from India.
The PTA expects the roadshow to help boost the number of Indian arrivals beyond the pre-COVID level of 315,175 in 2019 and help to generate more than B10 billion for the island’s economy.
According to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, 1,628,542 Indian tourists visited Thailand in 2023, a 66.13% increase on the 980,281 Indian tourists to Thailand in 2022.
