The online questionnaire is open from now until Apr 20, and can be completed via the government’s official website or the National Statistical Office (NSO) website at www.nso.go.th.
Governor Sophon said the census, led by the NSO, plays a vital role in shaping the country’s future.
“This data is essential for planning national development. It allows the government to allocate resources effectively, plan infrastructure, and implement social welfare, education, healthcare, and economic strategies in line with real population trends,” he said.
The census collects detailed information on population numbers, distribution, age, education, employment, and living conditions. Authorities say this will help improve services and measure the impact of government policies over time.
For residents who are unable or prefer not to complete the questionnaire online, census officials ‒ under the name ‘Khun Ma Dee’ ‒ will visit households to collect information in person from Apr 21 to June 19, he said.
NSO officials have assured the public that all information provided will be kept strictly confidential and used solely for national development purposes.
The Phuket branch of the National Statistical Office (NSO Phuket) has already called for all long-term expats and other foreigners on the island to take part in the census.
