The official standard marking the auspicious occasion will arrive by water at Wisit Panwa Pier at Cape Panwa at 11:30am, Phuket Governor Sophon Suwannarat confirmed yesterday (June 5).

Governor Sophon said that Phuket is fully prepared to hold celebratory activities, including its part in the ‘Walk, Run, Cycle’ to pay tribute to His Majesty the King.

Following the flag’s arrival, Governor Suwannarat will lead a procession of participants, including heads of government agencies, in walking, running, and cycling activities starting from Wisit Panwa Port.

The procession will travel along Sakdidet Rd and continue to the Phuket Provincial Administration Center on Tha Kraeng Rd in Phuket Town, where Phuket Provincial Hall is located.

There are nine designated points along the route where participants will engage in walking, running, and cycling with the emblem flag.

The flag will then be placed at the Phuket Auditorium, where an exhibition in honour of His Majesty the King will be held. The exhibition will showcase the royal history and duties, screen films celebrating the history of the Thai nation, and volunteer activities for public service and charity.

The celebrations will also feature traditional folk performances, contests of royal compositions, and local arts and cultural displays.

The flag will be handed over to Phang Nga Province at the Sarasin Bridge at about 1:30pm tomorrow (June 7).

In Phuket, the procession will cover routes across all three districts of Phuket ‒ Mueang Phuket, Kathu and Thalang ‒ allowing people in all areas across the island to join the ’Walk, Run, Cycle’ with the celebration flag.

Governor Sophon invites the people of Phuket to wear yellow shirts and participate in the activities to demonstrate their loyalty to His Majesty the King and to promote good health through exercise.

“We would like to invite the people of Phuket to join us in these activities, showcasing the power of loyalty to His Majesty the King and fostering strong health through exercise,” Governor Sophon said.
