The rehearsal took place at the sacred well of Wat Chaiyathararam (Wat Chalong) and at the vihara of Wat Phra Thong in Thalang.
The activities were meticulously planned to ensure orderliness, beauty, and reverence, said an official report of the rehearsal.
The ceremony includes drawing water at Wat Chalong, transporting the water, and conducting the consecration and celebration ceremonies at Wat Phra Thong.
The actual ceremony will take place tomorrow (July 4), with the water drawing scheduled at 2:49pm at Wat Chalong.
On July 7, the holy water consecration ceremony will be held at 5:09pm at Wat Phra Thong, followed by the celebration ceremony at the same location at midday next Monday (July 8).
The sacred well at Wat Chalong, built in the early 19th century by Phra Kru Wisutthiwongacharn Yanmuni (Luang Por Chaem), the second abbot of Wat Chalong, is a natural spring known for its clear and clean water.
The well, which is square-shaped with each side measuring 1.6 metres and drawing a depth of four metres, has been a vital source for previous royal ceremonies. Locals believe that the water possesses protective and auspicious properties.
In 2011, the water from this well was used in a ceremony to create holy water presented to the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) on his 84th birthday. In 2019, it was also used in the coronation ceremony of the current King Maha Vajiralongkorn (Rama X).
Phuket provincial officials have invited the public to join the auspicious ceremonies, but has people attending to wear either their full official uniforms and wear yellow.
