Phuket Governor Nirat Phongsitthaworn has ordered an intensive, round-the-clock operation involving 158 officers, 33 trucks, 19 rescue and flat-bottom boats, 47 jet-skis and inflatable craft and three high-powered water pumps. The resources are being prepared to deliver timely assistance to flood-stricken communities in Songkhla, Nakhon Sri Thammarat, Phatthalung, Trang and Satun, provincial officials confirmed.

The Phuket Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office (DDPM Region 18) has reinforced the effort with an additional fleet, including two trucks with long-range pumps, one truck equipped for floodwater removal, two large flood-relief vehicles, two motorboat carriers, three supplementary water pumps, two 12-tonne trucks, a boat engine, eight flat-bottom boats, two drinking-water production trucks and 22 personnel.

The Third Naval Area Command has contributed large and small trucks, seven outboard-motor rubber boat units, two flat-bottom boats and 70 personnel. The Phuket Marine Police and the Phuket Yat rescue team have added 17 jet-skis and more than 28 officers to the mission.

Private-sector support has also surged. The Phuket Jet Ski Business Association and local jet-ski operators have provided 23 jet-skis and 30 staff. The Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation (PPAO) has deployed two mobile toilets, one mobile repair vehicle and six officers. The Kusoldharm Phuket Foundation has supplied two six-wheel trucks, a 10-wheel truck, a rubber boat, a jet-ski, donated goods and six volunteers.

Further contributions have been made by the Singharaj Phuket team, the Phuket Provincial Representatives team, and local entrepreneurs across the province. The Cherng Talay Tambon Administrative Organisation (OrBorTor) has deployed five jet-skis, along with staff and volunteers, to assist rescue operations in Songkhla.

Authorities say the combined government, private sector and community mobilisation reflects Phuket’s commitment to supporting residents in neighbouring provinces. “All parties are prepared to deliver aid to the affected areas as quickly as possible to help alleviate suffering,” the Phuket Provincial Office noted.

To support the relief effort, 39 donation centres have been opened across the island, Phuket Governor Nirat Phongsitthaworn has reported: 20 in Mueang District, 11 in Kathu District and eight in Thalang District.

However, a list uploaded by the Phuket Provincial Office lists only 34 donation points. (See full list below).

Donation sites are accepting drinking water, dried food, clothing, medicine and essential necessities. Collections will continue until tomorrow Nov 28, before being transported to the flood-affected southern provinces. Some convoys carrying flood-relief aid have already left the island.

Residents can contact the DDPM hotline 1784 or the Phuket DDPM office for more information.

LOCAL COMMUNITIES STEP FORWARD

Across the island, local governments, schools, volunteer groups and private companies have launched their own relief convoys and donation drives.

Patong Municipality sends convoy to Hat Yai. Patong Municipality yesterday (Nov 26) launched a convoy of trucks loaded with drinking water, dried food, bedding, survival kits and jet-skis to Hat Yai District. Deputy Mayor Sanakorn Kisin led the send-off alongside councillors, officials and volunteers.

Patong Municipality thanked all donors and volunteers, stating that “each act of kindness delivers warmth and hope to those affected”.

Thalang District loads 18-wheeler with relief supplies. Also yesterday, Thalang District Chief Siwat Rawangkun led government officials, village headmen, religious leaders and community members in loading an 18-wheel trailer with drinking water, relief bags, animal feed and clothing bound for Songkhla. The vehicle was provided by the headman of Tambon Thepkrasattri.

The supplies were transported to the military donation centre at Senanarong Camp in Hat Yai for distribution.

Phuket City Municipality receives drinking water donation. Phuket City Mayor Suphot La-ongphet received a donation of drinking water from Nano Stores Co Ltd for distribution in Bang Niao and onward delivery to affected communities. Senior municipal officials and councillors joined the handover.

Vachira Phuket Hospital prepares medical deployment. Vachira Phuket Hospital has readied a medical response team to assist in flood-affected zones and to receive patient transfers from Hat Yai Hospital under emergency medical (EOC) protocols. Equipment prepared includes a DMAT vehicle, a patient-transport van, supply trucks, ED engines and a rescue boat.

Numerous private organisations have also organised major relief contributions:

* Phuket Technical College packed relief bags and donated 102 five-kilogramme bags of rice through the Kusoldharm Phuket Foundation.

* Phuket Nine Co Ltd, led by Executive Director Paphasorn Meepa, packaged 1,000 relief bags and 8,000 bottles of drinking water via the Ganesha Sri Mant Ganapati Temple network.

* Nikorn Marine opened a donation centre at its main office to collect essential goods for Songkhla, while also providing a bank account for monetary donations through the CSR Phuket Centre.

The Phuket Provincial Public Relations Office is also accepting donations at Phuket Provincial Hall until tomorrow, including water, food, medicine and daily necessities.

Governor Nirat stressed that the province stands united with southern communities facing the ongoing flood crisis.
