A formal announcement said the exercise will be from 8:30am to 4:30pm at the Provincial Administration Center on the south side of Phuket Town.
However, the main fire simulation exercise, featuring alarm signals, simulated smoke, fire trucks and sirens, will begin from 3pm onwards.
The exercise is part of regular safety preparedness measures to ensure that staff and emergency responders are ready to act swiftly in the event of a real fire, the announcement said.
The Phuket Provincial Office has asked the public for understanding, noting that nearby residents and people conducting government business should not panic if they see or hear the emergency response activities.
An official at Provincial Hall confirmed that normal government services will be available up until 3pm, when the evacuation sirens will sound.
The announcement concluded with an apology for any inconvenience caused by the training.
