The initiative is a flourishing green movement championed by the Phuket Provincial Agriculture Office, supported by the PPAO.
Acting under the Governor’s guidance, the mission is clear: to ignite a passion for locally grown vegetables among the community. The recipe for success includes showcasing real-life victories and providing access to high-quality, affordable and safe produce.
Among the festivities held at the launch of the event at Lotus’s shopping centre on the bypass road on Saturday (Sept 2), accolades were bestowed upon Phuket’s dedicated vegetable growers, handpicked by a competition jury.
However, it wasn’t just about recognition; the event served as a fertile ground for sharing invaluable insights on transforming vegetables into economic assets, benefitting households and communities alike. The event’s ethos prioritised knowledge exchange and a steadfast commitment to sustainability.
“Our aim is to transform Phuket into a hub for urban vegetable farming, adding value at every stage, and enhancing prosperity for all. ’Phuket Veggie Land’ transcends mere farming; it offers a fresh perspective on tourism, promising a brighter, tastier and economically thriving future for Phuket and its residents,” Mr Rewat said.
