Mr Teeraphong will replace former Vice Governor Samawit Suphanphai, who has been transferred to serve as Vice Governor of Nakhon Pathom Province.
Mr Teeraphong told The Phuket News he was grateful for the opportunity to work in the position of new Phuket Vice Governor.
“I’m delighted to have this opportunity, and I believe that if I work under the Phuket Governor, I will do my best and do everything I can to ensure the best possible outcome,” he said. “I have worked for Phuket for a long time, from District Chief of Kathu to Provincial Palad, and now Vice Governor.”
He added that he welcomes public engagement in shaping policy and direction. “If you have any suggestions, please let me know. I’m happy to help drive Phuket toward its intended goals.” (Tel: 076-354396.)
Regarding his assigned role, Mr Teeraphong noted that his responsibilities are expected to fall under the environment and economic sectors same as Mr Samawit, though final assignments will depend on the Phuket Governor’s orders.
Mr Teeraphong, a career government official under the Ministry of Interior, brings extensive administrative experience to the role. Before his appointment, he served as Phuket Provincial Chief Administrative Officer (Palad) and earlier as Kathu District Chief.
His previous district chief postings also include Pak Phanang in Nakhon Sri Thammarat, Koh Samui in Surat Thani, and Pa Bon District in Phatthalung.
In 2022, he received the District Chief Waenphet (‘Diamond Ring District Chief’) award in recognition of his work in Pak Phanang, where he was noted for easing public hardship, promoting community well-being and resolving local issues.
