Details of the Phuket Lobster Festival 2018, organised by Phuket province, Pracharath Rak Samakkee Co Ltd and members of the private sector, announced details of the 2018 event at a press conference held at Central Festival Phuket last Thursday (Aug 2).

In attendance at last Thursday’s press conference were Phuket Vice Governor Snith Sriwihok, Managing Director of Pracharat Raksamackee Co Ltd Veerachai Pranveerapaiboon, Kowit Gao-aian of the Phuket Fisheries Office, Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand (Phuket Office) Kanokkittika Kritwuttikorn and other relevant government agencies.

V/Gov Snith thanked Pracharath Rak Samakkee Co Ltd for being a big part of the annual event, one which he said helps to boost Phuket tourism during the Green Season.

He also said that the event helped increase the income of local residents who farm lobsters as it increases the lobsters’ value.

“A professional chef will create a special menu or Phuket Lobster Signature Menu by using spiny lobsters from Phuket,” he added.

The Phuket Lobster Festival will also generate income to locals and promote the career of lobster farmers to a wider audience of people, V/Gov Snith noted.

Mr Veerachai added that the success of the Phuket Lobster Festival sees an increase in the consumption of lobsters in Phuket and also an increase of income for the lobster farming community.
