H.E. Wan Muhammad Noor Matha, member of parliament and speaker of the House of Representatives, presided over the opening ceremony and was joined by: Phuket Governor Sophon Suwannarat; PPAO President Rewat Areerob; Pol. Lt. Col. Dr. Komon Dumlak, President of the Phuket Islamic Committee; as well along with executive members of the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization Council, selected heads of government agencies, PPAO representatives, imams, mosque committee members and members of the public.
Mr Rewat explained how a budget had been allocated back in 2019 to help build the facility which will provide local and national Islamic religious learnings whilst also organising meetings, training, seminars and various activities for the public, including children.
Mr Rewat further explained that the religious teachings will cover the creation and cultivation of Thai consciousness, the preservation of traditions, good history, morality and ethics, particualrly for children, which will help contribute to a sustainable development of quality of life.
The Phuket Islamic Ethics Training Center is a three-storey reinforced concrete building with an architectural style dome roof near to the Phuket Central Mosque, Mr Rewat confirmed.
The facility has a total usable area of 2,940 square meters, divided into three floors: the 1st floor consists of a parking lot, a restaurant and a dining hall; the 2nd floor is a large meeting room with 500 seats and an audiovisual control room; and the 3r floor is a multipurpose hall, including a small meeting room with 60 seats, a prayer room, a reception room and an audiovisual control room.
