More than 40 reserve lottery agents were selected by a lottery at the event, held at Phuket Provincial Administration Center, home to Phuket Provincial Hall.
Watcharapong Chiso, Acting Chief of the Phuket Provincial Office, presided over the lottery draw to create a reserve list of government lottery distributors in Phuket.
The selection process began with registration and confirmation of rights. Participants were required to register in person between 9am to midday. Those unable to register during the allotted time forfeited their rights without exception.
Applicants were instructed to present their original ID card and a copy, along with a copy of their house registration.
The main event, the drawing of lots, commenced at 1pm. Participants’ names were drawn in sequence until the reserve list quota was filled.
The lottery process to select the ‘winners’ aimed to promote equality and fairness in selecting lottery agents, ensuring that all qualified individuals had an equal chance to participate, said an official report of the event.
Phuket officials underscored the importance of transparency throughout the process, highlighting its role in supporting local livelihoods by creating income opportunities for those selected.
Vendors whose names were successfully added to the reserve list can monitor announcements for further updates on the official Phuket Provincial Office website and through relevant local agencies, the report concluded.
