At 9am, Governor Sophon and Mrs Busadee paid homage to the sacred objects enshrined at the front of the Provincial Hall, a tradition believed to bring blessings and good fortune, before the Governor’s official retirement from government service.
The ceremony commemorated the successful completion of Governor Sophon’s tenure as leader of the province.
The atmosphere outside the Provincial Hall was filled with warmth and respect, with senior officials from provincial departments, representatives from the private sector, civil society groups and members of the Phuket Red Cross Society gathering to extend their gratitude and best wishes.
Governor Sophon and Mrs Busadee were presented with garlands and bouquets from well-wishers, symbolising appreciation for their service and commitment to the province.
The heartfelt send-off reflected the public’s appreciation of the outgoing Governor’s efforts in Phuket, marking the close of his career as a leading government official.
The ceremony was organised by the Phuket Provincial Public Relations Office, which also released official photographs of the occasion.
