The event, held at the Impact Exhibition and Convention Center, was presided over by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul.

The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Anutin’s wife, Thanont Niramis, along with Deputy Minister of Interior Songsak Thongsri and Ministry of Interior Permanent Secretary Arsit Sampantharat.

Other high-ranking officials, members of the Interior Ministry Housewives Association and provincial governors also took part in the event.

The event was held under the gracious patronage of HRH Sirivannavari, who personally designed the ‘Siriraj Phattra Phorn’ fabric pattern.

The ‘Siriraj Phattra Phorn’ fabric pattern was designed by Her Royal Highness on the occasion of receiving an honorary doctorate in fashion design from Thammasat University in 2023. Drawing inspiration from Thai art and ancient fabrics, the princess researched and reimagined traditional designs to create a contemporary pattern that maintains the essence of Thai cultural heritage.

The fabric is categorized into multiple designs, including:

- Mudmee fabric and raised patterns, featuring motifs such as Dok Phuttan, Mayurasiri, Kho Fueang Uba and Kho Chao Fa 2568.

- Batik patterns, introduced in different stages, each incorporating intricate designs inspired by historical Thai art and international influences like the Persian ‘Paisley’ pattern.

The presentation of these patterns to Thai weavers and artisans aims to support the preservation of traditional craftsmanship while fostering innovation in the Thai textile industry, explained an official report of the event.

The project also serves to promote Thai culture on a global scale, reinforcing its artistic significance and historical value.

The ‘Siriraj Phattra Phorn’ fabric pattern was officially granted to the Ministry of Interior on Feb 9, 2025, at Udon Thani Rajabhat University, with subsequent additions made at Nakhon Sri Thammarat Rajabhat University on Feb 16.

The royal initiative highlights the deep connection between Thai heritage and modern textile artistry, ensuring that traditional weaving techniques remain a vital part of the nation’s cultural identity for future generations, said the official report of the event.
