Chaired by Phuket Vice Governor Samawit Suphanphai, the meeting took place at the Phuket Provincial Social Development and Human Security Office. Also in attendance were Sompit Srikhamhaeng, chief of the Phuket Social Development and Human Security office, and members of the subcommittee.
The subcommittee reviewed and approved the minutes from the previous meeting held on August 27, 2024, and acknowledged key outcomes from fiscal year 2024.
Over the past year, a total of B225,500 was allocated to support 10 families and 23 children across two meetings, with B137,000 provided for seven families at the meeting on May 3, 2024, and B87,500 provided for four families at the meeting held on Aug 27, 2024.
A refund of B19,000 was also reported in a case involving Sukon Kamlangkeo, after local authorities were unable to contact her and confirmed the child in question was no longer enrolled in school.
For fiscal year 2025, Phuket has been allocated B190,000 in support funds ‒ B90,000 for individual assistance and B100,000 for community projects ‒ based on guidelines from the Department of Children and Youth Affairs.
In this session, the subcommittee approved an additional B74,000 in aid to four families following field assessments by the Social Development Office.
Officials emphasised that these efforts are central to the province’s mission of protecting at-risk children and ensuring that families receive timely, targeted support in line with the fund’s objectives.
